WriteWith was conceived as a collaborative writing platform designed to streamline the process of creating, editing, and publishing documents within a group setting. The application allowed users to initiate a document by uploading existing files in formats such as .doc, .txt, or .rdf, or by composing directly within the platform. Once a preliminary draft was established, users could extend invitations to other editors via email and delegate specific tasks. WriteWith incorporated comprehensive version control functionalities and facilitated real-time collaborative editing through integrated commenting features. At the time of its beta phase, WriteWith was being tested by 15 college newspapers, including Stanford, and two of Canada's most prominent college publications, one of which operated a national newswire.
