Verak, a Winter 2021 Y Combinator participant, has been acquired by InsuranceDekho as of April 2023. Verak focused on providing accessible and comprehensive business insurance solutions for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India. Their core offering included next-day coverage, starting at ₹8 per day, protecting facilities such as shops, warehouses, and factories against a wide range of over 15 natural and man-made perils. The Verak team operated across the entire insurance value chain, leveraging satellite-based underwriting, machine learning-driven pricing models, instant quotation generation, and WhatsApp-based claims processing to streamline and enhance the insurance experience for Indian MSMEs.
