Turion Space is dedicated to creating spacecraft designed for in-space transportation and object imaging. Their core mission revolves around developing versatile technology that fosters a sustainable space environment. Initially, they intend to establish a robust business by offering space domain awareness imagery data. This revenue stream will simultaneously support the advancement of their technology, ultimately leading to cost-effective solutions for orbital debris removal and, in the long term, asteroid mining. The company's founders, with a background at SpaceX, participated in the Y Combinator accelerator program in the summer of 2021. Following this, they successfully secured a $6.2 million seed round and are on track to launch their inaugural DROID satellite in early 2023.
