SpaceRyde aimed to revolutionize space cargo transportation, fostering in-space advancements and economic opportunities. Their vision centered on a sustainable approach, utilizing a stratospheric balloon to ascend beyond the atmosphere, minimizing emissions and preventing black particle deposition into the ozone layer. Their multi-functional rocket was designed to remain operational in orbit, becoming part of a network capable of performing various in-space missions, including refueling, deep space exploration, space debris removal, and de-orbiting services.

Founded in 2018 by Saharnaz Safari and Sohrab Haghighat, SpaceRyde sought to democratize access to space innovation. The company grew rapidly, employing over 30 individuals and establishing a 25,000-square-foot rocket factory equipped with a state-of-the-art engine groundworks facility. Despite the initial promise, SpaceRyde is no longer active.
