Orbillion Bio focused on producing cultivated beef at scale, leveraging advanced computational models to optimize the bioprocess and drive down costs. Their proprietary bioware enabled precise control over the microenvironment crucial for meat cell growth, achieving accelerated cell proliferation without relying on GMOs, serum, or costly growth factors. This innovative approach aimed to achieve a production cost of $4 per kilogram at commercial scale.

Addressing the critical challenges of cost and scalability in the cultivated meat industry, Orbillion developed an integrated bioprocess platform. This platform allowed for rapid production at a commercial level anywhere globally within two weeks, utilizing an asset-light model. Strategic partnerships with major global food companies and a European partner accelerated commercialization efforts within the substantial $211 billion ground beef market. Founded by Dr. Patricia Bubner and Samet Yildirim, who brought scale-up experience in mammalian cells from the biopharmaceutical industry, Orbillion was supported by prominent investors including The Venture Collective, Y Combinator, At One Ventures, Venture Souq, and Hub71.
