NuCypher (aka Threshold Network)

NuCypher is a core contributor to the Threshold Network, a decentralized platform offering services like tBTC, TACo, Random Beacon, and tUSD. Since its inception in 2017, NuCypher has been at the forefront of developing advanced cryptographic solutions for secure, end-to-end encrypted data sharing. Their innovations include Proxy Re-Encryption and Threshold Access Control (TACo), alongside pioneering cryptoeconomic models such as Stable Yield. Furthermore, NuCypher has introduced original network and governance structures, highlighted by a significant on-chain merger. TACo, their primary offering, operates across a network of over 120 nodes, backed by approximately $80 million in economic security. It boasts paying developers, key infrastructure partnerships with entities like Ceramic, Irys, Textile, and Unlock, and has been decentralized since its mainnet launch in January 2024.
