Hello Chair

Hello Chair Inc., established in 2006 by Luke Iannini, Mike Jacobs, and Kevin Corcoran, was conceived to investigate potential applications of machine learning within the realm of internet advertising. Following seed funding from Y Combinator in 2007, the company developed Adpinion, an early advertising network that leveraged user feedback to facilitate personalized targeting strategies. The core technology, a recommendation engine known as SparseReduce, demonstrated versatility across various domains, including product recommendations on Amazon, auction discovery on eBay, image and language understanding, and Twitter stream analysis. Appsaurus, an app discovery platform powered by SparseReduce, was launched in late 2009 and received positive reviews. Hello Chair was supported by investors such as Harrison Metal, Mitch Kapor, Chris Sacca, Y Combinator, and David Parker, and advised by Alexis Ohanian.
