Envelope is a modern banking application that seamlessly integrates budgeting tools directly into the user experience. Unlike traditional budgeting apps like Mint, Copilot, or Rocket Money, Envelope provides users with a dedicated checking account upon signup, eliminating the need for unreliable bank syncing and connection issues. The core design focuses on serving as the primary checking and savings account solution for its users, streamlining their financial management.
Founded by Josh and Katelyn, a married couple with prior experience at Apple Card and Robinhood iOS, Envelope was born from the founders' own frustrations with managing their finances using disparate tools like the Chase app, spreadsheets, and Mint. This led them to create a superior, all-in-one solution.
Envelope aims to replace the complex web of financial services that users typically rely on. Instead of managing separate accounts for checking (Chase), investing (E-Trade), savings (SoFi), money market (Ally), kid's cards (Greenlight), and then using a third-party app like Mint or YNAB for budgeting, users can consolidate their finances within the Envelope ecosystem.
Envelope is a financial technology company and is not a bank. Banking services provided by Pacific West Bank, Member FDIC. Your funds are FDIC insured up to $250,000 through Pacific West Bank, Member FDIC. The Envelope Visaยฎ Debit Card is issued by Pacific West Bank, N.A. pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. and may be used anywhere Visa cards are accepted.
