Boundary is developing BAML, a specialized programming language designed for the creation of AI agents. Just as the industry evolved from assembly to C, and subsequently to higher-level languages like Python, we are now transitioning from Python towards natural language-driven development.

BAML addresses the challenges that arise when a significant portion of business decisions are automated through AI agents and prompts. It provides solutions for testing and validating these AI components, offering built-in tools to streamline the process of testing, observing, and working with structured LLM outputs and tool calling, enabling developers to achieve tenfold acceleration. Furthermore, BAML facilitates the instant parallelization of LLM calls and allows for reactive responses to specific events or changes within pipelines, eliminating the need for boilerplate code. It offers a 'React'-like experience for AI development.

BAML code is designed to be accessible from any other language, providing a standardized framework for organizing and declaring LLM or AI code.
